El municipio de Ciego de Avila
es uno de los nueve municipios en la provincia de Camagüey. Esta
localizado al sur, hacia el occidente, en la provincia. Limita por el
norte con el municipio de Morón; al noreste con el de Esmeralda; al
este con el de Florida; al oeste con Jatibonico; y al sur la baña el
Golfo de Ana María en el Mar Caribe. Su territorio cubre una superficie
de 3,004 kilómetros cuadrados. |

| Ceballos: Tenía una población de 2,993
personas en 1943. Este barrio fue fundado en 1903 por una colonia
americana dedicada a la cosecha de naranjas. Está situado a trece
kilómetros de la cabecera del municipio.

Formerly it was left from third class. Was created city council in 1877, segreg?olo of Mor? whose jurisdicci?pertenec? In 1902 they cleared to this city council some districts to him
to unite them to the jurisdictions of Sancti Sp?tus and Yaguajay, both
in the province of the Villas.  |
