Nació en Cádiz. Militar,
que fue ascendido a general por exigencia de Espartero,
con lo que se provocó una crisis ministerial. Defendió
a Diego de León ( 1841), aunque el texto que leyó era
obra de González Brabo. Fue jefe del Gobierno desde 1852
hasta 1853, y aunque incluyó en el Gabinete a otros
militares ( Lara, Mirasol), la presencia de Benavides
aseguró al Gobierno una tendencia civil que enlazaba con
la del anterior presidente, Bravo Murillo. Al abrir las
Cortes en marzo de 1853, la oposición de los militares
imposibilitó la gestión de Roncali, que hubo de
dimitir.

He was born in Cadiz. Military man, who was promoted to general by exigency of Espartero, which caused a ministerial crisis. (1841) Defended Diego of Leon, although the
text that read was work of González Brabo. He was head of the
Government from 1852 to 1853, and although included in the Cabinet other military (Lara, Mirasol), the presence of Benavides assured to the Government a civil tendency that connected with the one of the previous president, Bravo Murillo. When opening Cortes in March
of 1853, the opposition of the military disabled the management of Roncali, that was to resign.
